Mid-Jersey Chinese School, a nonprofit organization offering Chinese-language instruction and cultural classes for adults and children, is accepting applications for 2010-11 enrollment. Classes will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday mornings beginning Sept. 18 at Churchill Junior High School, East Brunswick.
Instruction in traditional Mandarin, practical Chinese (Mandarin) and Cantonese is offered. Classes are customized for the different needs of students. Instruction is available for individuals who do not speak Chinese at home or those who are learning Chinese for the first time.
The school is certified by the East Brunswick Board of Education, and students may earn high school foreign-language credit if they attain certain proficiency levels in oral and written standardized tests.
In addition to language classes, a variety of cultural classes are also are available for children and adults.
