The Master Gardeners of Mercer County will host "Overwintering Tender Plants" on Sept. 25 from 11 a.m.-noon at the Mercer Educational Gardens, 431A Federal City Road, Hopewell Township.
"Tropical" or tender plants can be saved to provide beauty for next year’s garden. Master Gardener Agnes Naughton will discuss the steps in saving plants, including canna, brugmansia and coleus, to boom again all without a greenhouse.
The Master Gardeners of Mercer County is a volunteer educational outreach program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 930 Spruce Street, Lawrence. Members answer home horticulture questions through their Helpline, 989-6853, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (March-October). For more information, visit www.mgofmc.org.
