HOPEWELL VALLEY: Local seniors display works of art

By John Tredrea, Staff Writer
There’s a good-looking painting of Marilyn Monroe and another of Frank Sinatra.
These works of art should get your attention.
In any event, there are more than 60 other paintings on display well worth contemplating — landscapes, portraits, still-lifes and many other genres.
They’re at the Artists Choice Show, on display through the end of the September at the Hopewell Township branch of the Mercer County Library, on the north side of Pennington-Titusville Road, just west of Route 31.
”Artists Choice is a group of local retirees who meet twice a month at the Hopewell Valley Senior Center in Pennington,” said Hopewell Valley Senior Services Coordinator Abigail Waugh.
All are welcome to join. Those who do will have the chance to have their artwork displayed at next year’s Artists Choice Show. To find out more, call 737-0605, ext. 692 or log onto [email protected].
This year’s Artists Choice show is being held in the library’s meeting room.
Paintings by Norm Fesmire, Bee Hilton, Helen Lee, Bob Barish, Dorothy Friedman, Gloria Panebianco and Peg Brock are there. Some of the paintings are for sale, at prices ranging from $25 to $500.
The Hopewell Valley Senior Center is located on Reading Street in Pennington.
