Photo Haven took a 3-1 win over Pennington Quality Market in the Hopewell Valley Recreation Soccer League’s Division 3 play, as Kevin Murray, Clay Fauver and Drew Bodine each had goals and keepers Will Kent, Eric Plarre, Eric Bodine and Fauver played well.
A day earlier, Breese Electric took a 4-2 win over Photo Haven as Charlie Kessel scored two goals and Max De Los Santos and Julian Mosquera had one each. For Photo Haven, Drew Bodine and Vann Adrian-Hage had goals, while Brendan Kohn was strong in goal and Brendan Plarre was tough on defense. Division 3 Girls
Diana’s Epiphany took a 4-0 win over Franco’s Pizza as Grace Sawicki notched a hat trick and Mia Cura also tallied. Martha Kerbel had an assist. Franco got offensive pressure from Maci Loughery and Samantha Smith and tough defense from Sarah Knoll, Ava Gill and goalie Melissa Mikalsen. Division 2 Girls
The Team Sutherland Tigers got off to a roaring start, taking two victories.The Tigers topped Pennington Bagel, 1-0, as Julia Peters had the goal with offensive support from Charlotte Hare, Anna Neal, Emma Suter and Molly Rhoads. Excellent defensive efforts came from Anna Cappucci, Avery Lytle, Kate Allen and Chloe Mummert, while Abigail Shevlin made several critical late game stops to preserve the win and the shutout.
The Tigers beat Front Porch, 2-0, as Anna Neal and Ellie Hawkie had goals while Peters had an assist. Offensive pressure came from Hare, Rhoads and Allen, while Mummert, Suter, Lytle Shevlin and Cappucci led the defense.
The Front Porch took a 2-0 win on goals by Summer Goldstein and Jolene Evich. Goalie Grace Webb notched the shutout and Close Smith provided offensive pressure.
The Pennington Bagels took a 5-2 win over the Wealth Management Partners in a well played game by both sides. Katie Baker and Maggie Amaral each scored for WMP while area newcomer Adeline Danieluk made her presence known with three goals for PB, while Jamie Wills and Fiona McCaffrey also tallied. Greenleaf took a 3-2 win over Horvath and Giacin on goals by Joseph Rebak, James Jackson and Steven Eldridge, whose free kick late in the game provided the winning goal. H&G tallies came from Ryugo Takino and Will Feehan.
The DeSimone Orthodontics squad topped Horvath & Giacin as Seamus Johnson and Ryan Linthorst each had three goals while Liam Dun picked up assists. Joshua Gerber scored for H&G and Jon Nardozza was strong on defense. In a win over Pennington Quality Market, Dylan Engongoro had three goals and Dun set up several more goals. Jason Bradley, Linthorst, Max Caputo, Bennie Jimenez, Cole Pinto, Jack Hutchison and Matthew Linthorst were tough on defense for DeSimone over the weekend, while Cal Caputo, Engongoro and Johnson were strong in goal.
Precision Acura opened with a 2-1 win over CM Automotive as Kenny Tagliareni scored off a feed from Milo DeLosSantos and Carmen Zangrilli also tallied. Great defense came from River Martin, Rehan Yadau, George Maltabes, Dylan LeRay and Shreyas Nanjundan, while forwards Sam Hastings, James McLaughlin and Ben Veale played a strong offensive game. Goalies Zangrilli, DeLosSantos, James McLaughlin and Siddharath Dhar made some excellent saves.
