Coming off two straight undefeated seasons in 3M U-15 soccer play, the East Windsor PAL Silver Stars picked right up where they left off with a 2-1 victory over East Brunswick.
David Gutierrez had both goals off assists from Marc Roberts and Robert Cohen. Constant pressure was applied by Kyle Diller, Brenden Price and Ryan McGinley. The defensive play of Cedric Abano and Matthew Tantoy kept turf clear in front of goalies Etienne Cossart and Amir Romerottarvey. * * *
In travel play, the U8 United girls dropped a 3-1 decision to Middletown. The game was tied at 1-1 at halftime thanks to Isabel Hulme’s for the United. Freyja Quinn, Sophia Szelag, Leela Chari, Lizzie LeChard and Megan McConnell applied offensive pressure, while Kailyn Castro, Maeve McGowan, Emily Barry, Jessica Devlin and Gina Zappola were stellar on Defense. ‘Keepers Morgan Koppel and Camilla Ortiz were rocks in front of the goal.
Nicholas Petruso and Matthew Tobito scored goals as the U8 Titans took a 2-0 win over Colts Neck. Peter Mejia and Bryan Ortega stopped nine shots to earn the shutout. George Arsnow and Robby Walkley were strong on defense, while Aadil Makkar and Paul Santoro controlled the midfield. * * *
In Pre-Cadet boys play, the R.J. Hicks Inc. White Terminators won a pair of games thanks to multiple goals by Alex Aguilar and Brendan Coffey. Perumal Rishi and Jack Olson also scored. Brendan Coffey made five saves in goal in the first two minutes of the second game. * * *
In Pre-Cadet girls play, the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Chocolate Brownies beat the Corner-Copia Pink Rock Stars, 3-2, as Giavanna Toto had all three goals while Annamaria Frasso and Kayla Chikosky made several saves in goal. Scoring for the Rockstars were Cara Horning and Jacqueline Massone, while Alexandra Kolo played stellar defense.
The Pink Rock Stars took a 4-1 win over the Around The Garden Red Dragons, as Jackie Masone, Cara Horning, Isabella Cammarata and Erin Cooke had goals, while Gabby Strzepek and Sofia DeAngelo played strong two-way games. Kira Crutcher had the Red Dragons goal and Melissa Weingast played strong defense in front of standout goalie Genevieve Rosenberger.
The Green Dragons took a 5-1 win over Bell’s Custom Painting as Bella Ross scored three goals and Isabella Sabogal and Teresa Allison had one each. Mahika Chadha was strong in goal, getting defensive help from Karly McKenna, Brianna Titus, Abigail Bell, Caitlin Fannery and Kelby Warner. Bell’s got a goal from Kiana Quizhpi and Emma Cohen and Anna Mrvica worked hard throughout.
The Blue Rasberries beat the Yellow team, 4-0, as Lilly Gabriello scored two goals and Annabel Lecky and Olivia Heilbronn also tallied. An outstanding defensive effort was anchored by Ava Thomson and Alex Weinstein. The Rasberries then took a 1-0 win over the Chocolate Brownies, as Olivia Heilbronn scored the game’s lone goal and Grace Heilbronn gave a strong defensive effort. Saatchi Mishra and Katie Palacios played strong defense in front of goalie Anjali Rabindran.
