Win for travel team in soccer tourney

The South Brunswick Soccer Club’s U14 Asteroids open their season with a 3-1 record in the South Brunswick Soccer Club tournament.
In game one, SBSC dropped a 1-0 decision to Maplewood and allowed its only goal of the tournament.
The Asteroids then beat Princeton and East Brunswick, 3-0, and closed the weekend with a 1-0 win over Monroe. Scoring for the Asteroids were Aakash Muthu (a hat trick against East Brunswick), and Elijah Suggs, Nicholas Libassi and Miles Anglin with one goal each. Providing assists were Mike Wijesinghe, Nicholas Libassi.
For most of the tournament, the Asteroids rode the strong goaltending of John Burke. The defense of Stephen Sandoli, Dan Spivak, Sharat Durbhakula and Thomas James sparkled.
