Lehigh junior midfielder Leah Kulp, a Hopewell Valley High graduate, was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. Kulp spearheaded a Lehigh defense which allowed only nine shots (two on goal) to Marist on Friday.
Kulp’s highlight play came late in regulation when a Red Fox forward was sprung in on goalkeeper Lauren Mains. After making a move around the senior netminder and facing an open net, Kulp came in to defend and prevent a shot.
