HIGHTSTOWN – Rise has received a $15,00 grant from Princeton-based electricity generation company NRG Energy through its NRG Energy Fund, administered by the Princeton Area Community Foundation.
The grant was given in support of the Hightstown-East Windsor Learning program.
Teresa Sacks, acting executive director of Rise, said the money was used to promote children’s academic achievement and develop their social skills. In addition, the HELP program, which provides a "day-care solution to working families," created job opportunities for teens who work as counselors in training, she said in a press release.
Rise, a Community Services Partnership, is one of six organizations to received funding from NRG.
