LAWRENCE: Foundation grant funds new tech lab

A state of the art technology lab and robotics program was booted up at Lawrence Middle School this month, thanks to a grant from the Lawrence Township Education Foundation.
The new hardware and software will be at the center of a technology curriculum that includes instruction in many applications including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, intro to HTML and web design. Class units in robotics and engineering will provide students with structured experiences that foster innovation, individual and team problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills.
”The new LMS Tech Lab fills a technology facilities gap that existed between the Intermediate School and the High School. Now, students can continue to develop and refine their computer learning throughout their years in Lawrence Township Public Schools,” said LTEF Board President Pepper Evans. “We are grateful to Bristol-Myers Squibb, ETS and The Lawrenceville School, as well as every other LTEF contributor, for helping us to bring this valuable asset to the Middle School.”
The Lawrence Township Education Foundation is a tax-exempt non-profit organization devoted to fostering educational excellence, creativity and achievement in the Lawrence Township Public Schools. It has funded over 400 programs in the Lawrence schools with grants in excess of $2.1 million since 1992.
