Despite the heavy amount of rain expected today, the Delaware River is not expected to flood, according to David Burd, of the Lambertville Office of Emergency Management,
Mr. Burd said, “The National Weather Service is currently forecasting the Delaware River at Lambertville to crest at 7.3 feet or 5.7 feet below the flood level of 13 feet in our city. Therefore, we do not expect any river flooding in Lambertville.”
He added, “Drivers and pedestrians should be aware of any urban and roadway flooding, which might occur as a result of the precipitation falling directly in Lambertville. Caution should be used.”
He said the mayor, city officials, including those from the Office of Emergency Management and the Public Works Department, would continue to monitor the situation and post periodic updates if necessary.
