Goals by Reena Ketkar and Raffi Alexander powered the East Windsor PAL U16 Blast travel soccer team to a 2-0 victory over the Howell United Titans. Stellar defense came from Amy Woods, Kristen McGrath, Kelly McGlew and Erika Serhus.
Isabel Hulme scored an early goal and the U-8 United held on for a 1-0 victory over the Manalapan Fury. Maeve McGowan, Kailyn Castro, Jessica Devlin and Gina Zappola provided excellent defensive support in front of the stellar goalkeeping of Camilla Ortiz and Emily Barry.
The U-8 Titans defeated the Old Bridge Tornadoes, 5-1, as Jason Avila had three goals and Nicolas Petruso scored two. Teamwork was on display the entire game as Chris Sockler had an assist and Paul Santoro and Matthew Tobito kept the midfield open. Strong defensive play came from Bryan Situ and Spencer Cohen, excellent goaltending was provided by Peter Mejia and Bryan Ortega.
The U-15 Silver Stars remained unbeaten with an 8-1 win over Monroe as Marc Roberts had two goals while Ryan McGinley, Amir Romerottarvey, Danny Perry, Etienne Cossart, Gautham Ramasubbu and Robert Cohen also tallied. Offensive pressure also came from Benjamin Infosino, Jeffrey Achaibar, Siddharth Challani and Kyle Diller. Cedric Abano and Matthew Tantoy were stellar on defense while goalies Etienne Cossart and Brenden Price made some great saves.
The U10 Wildcats dropped two exciting games over the weekend, falling to the Wall Firecrackers (4-2) and the Brick Lightning (5-3). Against Wall, Simrit Grewal and Kirin Kunukkasseril each scored while Caitlin McConnell and Sarah Brottman played well on offense. Brick took a 4-0 lead before goals by Johaira Perez, Grewal and Kunukkasseril helped make things close. Rebecca Yeager provided some outstanding goalkeeping in the second half. SENIOR GIRLS
The Tidal Waves defeated East Brunswick, 2-0, on goals by Kelly Mayancela and Morgan Kentsbeer. Dulce Avila made two big saves while Jessica Cier, Jessenia Orellana and Sarah Perry were strong defensively. CADET GIRLS
The Hurricane Chaos moved to 4-0 with two wins over the weekend. Kendra Stephens had three goals and Nicole Masone had two, while Rinky Shah had an assist. Jessica Saldutti, Katie Murray, Audrey Ryer and Sarah Mann made several key stops in goal with help from defenders Sophia McClellan and Emilia Ferrante. Erin Knauer, Jessica Gratkowski and Kelsey Ennis applied offensive pressure, while Marilyn Jarama was a force. PRE-CADET GIRLS
The VFW Post 5700 Grey Foxes defeated the Pearl Vision Green Dragons, 3-1, as Ashley Giampolo had a goal and an assist while Isabella Benitez and Lara Koppel also scored. Outstanding defense came from Katherine Brophy and Shivali Korgaonkar. For the Dragons, Brianna Titus scored, while Abigail Bell and standout goalie Isabella Sabogal had strong games.
The East Green Cleaners Blue Raspberries won two more with a 2-0 victory over Purple Power Saturday and a 2-0 win over the Grey Foxes Sunday. Against the Purple Power, Christina Tkac and Olivia Heilbronn had goals and Natalie Petillo made an outstanding save to preserve the shutout. Purple Power’s Maddie Frunzi played well in goal, getting defensive help from Brianna Eckel Cifrese. Shruti Nagpal applied offensive pressure.
Against the Grey Foxes, Grace Heilbronn, Olivia Heilbronn and Christina Tkac had goals while Alex Weinstein had a goal and an assist. Isabella Heilbronn and Ava Thomson anchored the shutout defense. The Grey Foxes Simran Bhathal and Shreena Sukhadia defended well and Kate McClellan provided offensive pressure.
The St. Paul Lutheran Church Chocolate Brownies beat the Around the Garden Red Dragons, 5-0, on goals by Jessica Benattar, Calleigh Kosman and Giavanna Toto. Annamaria Frasso and Saachi Mishra played strong defense. For the Red Dragons, Savannah Spring and Alexandra Casale played strong defensive games and Kelly Mao was outstanding in goal.
The Purple Power took a 4-1 win over VFW Post 5700 as Shruti Nagpel scored two goals and Kaitlyn Conroy and Madison McCauley added one goal each. Emma Shwom and Emily Hamnett provided strong defense. PRE-CADET BOYS
The AAMCO Purple Dragons played to a 2-2 tie with two goals by Justin Unger. Assists came from Tariq Williams and Jack Callahan, and a wall of defense was provided by Aiden Castillo and Matthew Ellsworth.
