The Har Sinai Temple Sisterhood is inviting the women of Lawrence Township’s Congregation Adath Israel to join them for a morning Shabbat service at Baldpate Mountain on Oct. 16.
Open to all, the event will begin in the Baldpate parking lot on Fiddler’s Creek Road at a 9:30 a.m. breakfast under a red tent followed by a walk up the mountain for the service.
It takes about 30 minutes to walk up the mountain and there is an alternate to the hike on a paved route. Comfortable shoes, a folding chair and a jacket are suggested to anyone in "average" shape who plans to participate.
The short Shabbat service will take place on the mountain and the event is expected to conclude by 12:30 p.m.
Although the Red Tent Shabbat is open to all, reservations are requested by Oct. 10, and a $10 fee will be charged. To reserve, contact Adath Israel at (609) 895-9887.
