BORDENTOWN CITY – This year a special award will be given out in honor of the past chairman of the Bordentown City Halloween parade. The Steve McGowan Award will be given to the float or marching unit that best shows community and Halloween spirit.
In keeping with Mr. McGowan’s philosophy, this float or marching unit doesn’t have to be anything elaborate.
Various other awards are given out after the parade for several child, adult, and business categories.
Floats and marching units are needed for the upcoming Halloween Parade, Sunday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. Those already registered include Bordentown Home for Funerals which sponsors the local area Girl Scouts, Mom’s Club of Florence, Chesterfield Veterinary, Hamilton PAL Twirlers, and PNC Bank. To register your float, fill out the online registration form at www.bordentownhalloween.com or by calling 298-9328.
Children, adults, groups and families that would like to be judged as masquerades before the parade, should report to the parking lot at St. Mary School at 1:15 p.m. Judging will begin promptly at 1:30. Register at the table in front of St. Mary’s School to participate in the costume contest on the day of the parade.
