The Mansfield Township Recreation Department is sponsoring line dancing instruction to be held at the John Hydock Elementary School, Locust Avenue, Columbus. Classes will be held Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 beginning Oct. 5 in the school gym.
Feel free to join in the fun at any time. You do not have to attend the first class to participate. The classes are free of charge and are open to all adults residing in Mansfield Township. No partner is necessary to learn to line dance to various types of music – swing, country, polkas, Latin, waltzes and rock ‘n’ roll. For more information, contact instructor May Healy at 324-0686.
Burlington County Chapter of Hadassah will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Temple Har Zion, High and Ridgeway Street, Mount Holly.
Following the business portion at 1 p.m., guest speaker the Rev. Andrew T. Gordon, manager of the Pastoral Care Department at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly and pastor with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will address attendees. He has spent over 12 years as a chaplain in community hospitals and hospice. He currently serves on the Virtua Bioethics Committee, the Virtua-Fox Chase Cancer Committee and the Cultural Diversity Committee and also participates in several local ministeriums. Having previously been published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Pastoral Care & Counseling on end-of-life decision-making, he will discuss "The Spiritual Nature of the Journey."

The Columbus Home and School Association will sponsor the annual Fall Fun Fair on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mansfield Community Park. Come out with the family to enjoy fire truck rides, face painting, pumpkin decorating, carnival games, prizes and more! See a live performance by M.E.R.C.K. a local "kid band." There will be vendors and food too!

The next Mansfield Township Board of Education meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mansfield Township Elementary School on Mansfield Road East. The meeting will take place in the Media Center.

The Columbus Home and School Association will hold its first monthly meeting for this school year on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 8 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Media Center at the Mansfield Township Elementary School on Mansfield Road East. All interested members of the community are invited to attend.
Reservations are being accepted for the annual Hedding United Methodist Church Oyster Supper. The date is Saturday, Oct. 23, with seatings every half hour starting at 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The price is $23 for adults and $10 for children 6 to 12 years old (children 5 and under are free).
Pre-purchased take-outs tickets are available. Pickup time is only from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m. Reservations must be made in advance by calling Claudia Teal at 609-324-0729.
Also, the church bazaar will be held in the church basement, featuring a variety of handmade items such as quilts, pillows, placemats, etc., and baked goods. Our famous pepper relish, which is served at the supper, will be sold at the bazaar.
The church is located at the intersection of Old York Road and Hedding-Kinkora Road in Mansfield Township.
