On Oct. 14, the Hopewell Valley League of Women Voters will hold its annual Candidates’ Night forum for those running for seats on Hopewell Valley’s three municipal governments. The forum will be held from 7:30-9 p.m. in the TV studio at Hopewell Valley Central High School, just off Route 31.
The public is invited to attend and ask questions of the candidates.
Three candidates are vying for two three-year terms on Pennington Borough Council: Eva Kaplan, Alyce McClurg-Doldy and incumbent Thomas Ogren.
In Hopewell Township, James Burd and Michael Markulec are running to keep their seats. They are being challenged by Erika Kotite and Michael Kosloski for two three-year Township Committee seats.
In Hopewell Borough, incumbents Timothy Sean Jackson and David Mackie are running to retain their seats. There are no challengers.
At the forum, each candidate will have an opportunity to make opening and closing statements and then answer questions from the public. At the close of the program, residents will be able to meet informally with candidates.
The program will be televised live on Comcast channel 19 and Verizon channel 32. It will be rebroadcast on both channels on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.; on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.; on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 a.m., noon and 8 p.m. until the election.
The general election is Nov. 2. Polls will be open from 6 a.m.-8 p.m.
