The VFW Post 5700 Gray Foxes took a 3-1 win over the Yellow Superstars in East Windsor PAL Pre-Cadet girls soccer action, as Ashley Giampolo had all three goals. Isabella Benitez and Lara Koppel had assists. The defense was anchored by Katherine Brophy and Kate McClellan in front of goalie Tyler Restucci. Scoring for the Superstars was Neeha Anand, while there defense was solid behind the play of Allison McDonough and Samantha John.
The Gray Foxes followed with a 3-0 win over the Corner-Copia Pink Rock Stars, as Giampolo notched another hat trick. Engblom, Shreena Sukhadia and Shivali Korgaonkar played strong defense in front of goalie Simran Bhathal. The Pink Rock Stars got strong efforts from Isabella Cammarata, Cara Horning, Alexandra Kolo and Gabrielle Strzepek offensively, and from Nora Devine, Victoria Koegler, Lauren Krieger and goalie Jacqueline Masone defensively.
The Windsor Green Cleaners Blue Raspberries took two more wins last weekend, starting with a 3-0 win over the Corner-Copia Pink Rock Stars Saturday. Annabel Lecky, Lilly Gabriello and Olivia Heilbronn had the goals while Ava Thomson and Isabella Heilbronn were tough on defense. Isabella Cammarata, Erin Cooke, Victoria Koegler, Cara Horning and Jacqueline Masone applied offensive pressure for Corner-Copia, while a solid defensive effort was given by Danielle Cruz, Nora Devine, Lauren Krieger and Gabby Strzepek. Sofia DeAngelo and Alexandra Kolo were tough in the midfield.
The Blue Rasberries then took a 3-0 win over the Pearl Vision Green Dragons as Natalie Petillo, Grace Heilbronn and Alex Weinstein had goals, while Layne Peterson had the shutout in goal. For the Green Dragons, Teresa Allison, Kelby Warner, Brianna Titus and Abigail Bell played strong defense.
The Green Dragons got three goals from Teresa Allison and one each from Bell and Sabogal in a 5-0 win over the Red Dragons. Caitlin Flannery played well in goal with defensive help from Karly McKenna, Mahika Chadha and Bella Ross.
The St. Paul Lutheran Church Chocolate Brownies played to a 1-1 tie on Saturday as Giavanna Toto had the goal and Calleigh Kosman played strong defense and Kayla Chikosky excelled in goal. The Brownies followed with a 2-0 win over the Around the Garden Red Dragons as Toto and Jessica Benattar had goals and Saatchi Mishra and Anjali Rabindran were tough in goal.
The Purple Power took a 4-0 win over the Bell’s Custom Painting White Eagles as Madison McCauley scored two goals and Kaitlyn Conroy and Emma Shwom each scored one. Strong defense came from Madison Frunzi and Brianna Eckel-Cifrese. Emma Cohen and Samara Genek worked hard on defense for Bell’s.
TRAVEL
The U10 Wildcats defeated the Tinton Falls Comets, 5-1, as Kirin Kunnukkasseril scored two goals, including one on a nice assist from Hailey Cammarata. Simrit Grewal, Caitlin McConnell and Cammarata each added a goal, while Olivia Thiel, Sarah Brottman and Julia Thomson provided excellent offensive and Sahithi Muthyala played well on defense.
Kendra Power scored three goals and Grace O’Leary added one to lead the U9 Storm to a 4-0 win over Manalapan. Sharing the shutout were goaltenders Elizabeth Szeles and Selma Elmenayer. On defense Julia Gorajek held Fire to two shots. Offensively, Elizabeth Barrett registered five shots.
The U8 Titans to Neptune S.A. Inter, 6-2, as Nicolas Petruso had both Titan goals. Paul Santoro, Chris Sockler and Matthew Tobito supplied offensive pressure while Rob Walkley and George Arsnow were tough on defense in front of goalies Peter Mejia and Bryan Ortega.
Jessica Devlin scored the game’s lone goal as the U8 United took a 1-0 win over the Marlboro S.A. Devils Blue. Goalies Morgan Koppel and Camilla Ortiz and defenders Kailyn Castro and Emily Barry were impenetrable and Lizzie LeChard was strong at midfield.
The U14 Xtreme girls claimed their State Cup opener with a 6-0 win over the Montgomery Travelers Wildcats. Kelsey Ignace scored three goals while Emily Cohen tallied twice and Kelly Arnold scored once.
In regular-season play, the Xtreme played the CNJSB Wildcats to a 1-1 tie as Ignace had the lone goal. The defense was led by Melissa Barnes, Paloma Rodney, Stephanie Taylor, Tiana Richards and goalie Brianee Hendryx.
David Gutierrez and Siddharth Challani scored two goals each, while Marc Roberts, Brenden Price, Jeffrey Achaibar, Robbie Cohen and Ryan McGinley had one each as the U15 Silver Stars remained unbeaten with a 9-2 win over the Manalapan Phillies. Ben Infosino and Nathaniel Crabtree helped provide offensive pressure, Sam Tootleman, Scott Perry and Danny Perry were solid on defense while Etienne Cossart and Ryan Ely made some huge saves in goal.
The U16 Blast got three goals from Dori Killeen, two from Nicole Miller and one from Reena Ketkar in a 6-1 win over the Manalapan Mustangs. Sam Gleich had two assists, Ashley Avant and Allyson Keil were strong offensively and Kelly McGlew was strong at ‘keeper.
CADET BOYS Nathan Diller scored two goals to pace Team 4 to victory.
CADET GIRLS
The Corner of Chaos Hurricane Chaos took 3-1 and 2-1 wins to improve to 6-0. Marilyn Jarama, Sophia McClellan and Rinky Shah scored their first goals of the season, with assists from Jessica Gratkowski, Emillia Ferrante, Katie Murray and Sarah Mann. Kendra Stephens also scored, while Audrey Ryer, Erin Knauer, Kelsey Ennis, Nicole Masone and Jessica Saldutti each played well in goal.
The Bell’s Custom Painting White Eagles beat the Yellow Superstars, 2-1, as Kiana Quizhpi and Isabella Deltoro had goals. Allison Pratt and Sydney Eber controlled the midfield for the Eagles, while Breanna Miller and Shreya Krishwan played tenacious defense for the Superstars.
SENIOR GIRLS
In last week’s article on the Tidal Waves win over East Brunswick No. 3, Jessie Blackburn should have been credited with the two goals, while Kelly Mayancela and Morgan Kentsbeer had the assists.
MONROE
Goals by Erica Junquet and Abby Ludwig gave the Monroe Township Soccer Club Power a 2-0 win over Piscataway. Lexi Busco had an assist for the Power.
Cori Haider , Andrea French , Jenna Parisen, Kelly Roznick and Alycia Nelson supplied the shutout defense, while Kyrsten Ramkishun and Sydney Reyes were tough on the wings and Kate Broskie and Ariana Reyes were solid at midfield. Casey Reyes, Sarah Hager and Erica Junquet were in goal.
