MONROE: Lodi man charged in armed robbery

   MONROE — A 41-year-old Lodi man was charged with armed robbery of the Pamrapo Savings Bank on Sept. 30.
   Police said the man, Victor C. Cannestro, went into the bank at 473 Spotswood-Englishtown Road at 11:39 a.m. He went up to the teller and placed a note and handgun on the counter and demanded money, police said.
   The teller gave him money, and Mr. Cannestro left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
   The teller altered the bank security officer who, with the help of Monroe police, arrested the man in the parking lot.
   Mr. Cannestro was charged with robbery, theft and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was taken to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center n North Brunswick in lieu of $100,000 bail with no 10 percent cash option.
