FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Lambertville, NJ (11 October 2010)
Rojo’s Roastery welcomes home a two-time Grammy Award-winning musician in an evening of live jazz on Saturday 30 October from 7-10 PM. A talented group of local players will share an intimate night of musical swing with pedal steel guitar wizard Lucky Oceans, a Philadelphia native, making a rare U.S. visit from his home in Fremantle, Australia. Lucky is a founding member of Asleep at the Wheel, the host of the Australian based ABC Radio National Show "Daily Planet," and an old steel guitar colleague of J. David Waldman, Rojo’s founder and a former Nashville steel guitar session player. Sharing the swing, stomp blues and jazz will be local piano wizard George Laks of Solebury Township, Pa, a Lenny Kravitz band member and session player, saxophonist James McBride of Solebury Township, a local author, screenwriter, and musician formerly with Anita Baker and Grover Washington Jr., upright bassist Jordan McBride, James’s 16-year-old boy wonder of the upright, and Damon Due White, drums, of Brooklyn, NY, formerly with Harry Belafonte, Mick Taylor, Johnny Copeland, Geroge Duke, and Hugh Masakela among others. Rojo’s is located at 243 N. Union St, Lambertville, NJ. There is plenty of free parking behind the Roastery. No cover charge. Light food, life-affirming coffee, and an intimate musical night to remember. BYO.
