The Hillsborough Health Department will give flu vaccinations in the multipurpose room at the Hillsborough municipal building from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 14, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 21, and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 2. There will be a $20 charge to all participants (except those with Medicare coverage). The Friends of the Hillsborough Library Annual Book Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Hillsborough municipal building in program rooms A and B. Hardcover and paperback books will be sold along with DVD’s and music CDs. Book genres will span adults, children, teens, fiction, nonfiction, cooking, history, arts and crafts, and more. Teen Zone at the Hillsborough YMCA, sponsored by the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders and co-sponsored by the Hillsborough Youth Commission and the Hillsborough Family YMCA, will be open from 7 to 10 p.m. each Saturday night. Hillsborough band and color guard will host a fundraising event at IHOP, on Route 206, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 21. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert and 15 percent of your check will be donated to the Hillsborough Band Parents Association to support the band and color guard programs.
Israeli dancing lessons will be offered at Temple Beth-El, Hillsborough. The sessions will be held in the temple’s multipurpose room from 7:30 p.m. – 9 p.m., on Oct. 21, Nov. 4 and 18, Dec. 9 and 23, Jan. 6 and 20, and Feb. 3 and 17. The cost, which includes refreshments, is $7 per session, or $50 for the series (a savings of $20 off of the session-by-session rate).
