Space still available for Oct. 23 Ghost Tour

On Oct. 23, the Community School of New Hope-Solebury is sponsoring its annual ghost tour.
The motorcoach will leave New Hope-Solebury High School, 180 W. Bridge St., at 7:45 a.m. and return at approximately 7 p.m.
This tour will be led by Charles Adams III, author of more than 30 books on the supernatural. He has led ghosts tours from New York City to Scotland, from Philadelphia to Wales, and from Cape May to England. He has served as commentator and consultant for the History Channel, A&E, The Learning Channel, and The Travel Channel on the paranormal.
Travel to Birdsboro, Pa., for a visit to the birthplace of native son Daniel Boone. There, tourers will be led to the deTurk family graveyard and learn the secrets of the burial ground. They will see the Bertolet-Herbein cabin with its mysterious “soul holes” said to be placed so that should anyone die in the cabin, the body would be taken to the room with the holes to allow the spirit of the deceased to leave and find its way to the other side.
Then travel to the 1753 Jacob Keim Farmstead, one of the most haunted sites in Berks County.
Conclude with a walking tour of Reading’s Centre Park Historic District. Visitors will pass five haunted mansions where they will learn of the spirits that continue to reside in them and visit the Charles Evans Cemetery. In this sprawling 119-acre “garden cemetery” you will hear the story and see the graves of family members whose death made national headlines and provided fodder for gossips for decades.
The tour will end at the Tulpehocken Valley County Park and Gring’s Mill, where the crime scene unfolded and where many people have witnessed audible and visible entities associated with this tragedy.
Cost of the tour is $105 and includes motorcoach transportation, services of tour guide, lunch, and all taxes and gratuities. Make reservations immediately. Call 215-968-8409 or 215-862-3619.
