Township police are looking for two men who attempted to rob a pedestrian at gunpoint near the Halo Farms store on Spruce Street around 9 p.m. Wednesday night, according to police Lt. Mark Ubry.
The victim told police he was walking on the access road that leads to the Halo Farms store at 9:05 p.m. when he was approached by two men, Lt. Ubry said. One man had a black-and-white bandanna covering his face and the second man pulled up his jacket over his mouth to obscure his face.
The man who was wearing the bandanna displayed a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the victim, Lt. Ubry said. When he told them he did not have any money, the men told him to walk away from the access road towards a wooded area. They fled on foot.
Police searched area but could not find the men. They are described as two black males, one about 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 4 inches tall, thin and about 22 to 27 years old. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, a skull cap and gray pants. He was the man pointing the gun.
The second man was about 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, and of medium build. He was about 16 to 20 years old. He had a medium brown complexion with a dread lock hairstyle. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
The investigation by Officer Matthew Grossi and Detective Joseph Lech IV is continuing. Anyone with information on the incident may call the Lawrence Township Police Department at (609) 896-1111.
