– Works of local artists Edie Sharp, Anthony Flamio and Mike Mann will be shown at the Saw Mill Open House on Nov. 6 and 7 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This event will be an added attraction to the 2010 Thanksgiving in the Country Tour at the historic Prallsville Mills Complex. Mr. Mann will feature 25 of his recent paintings and prints. He considers his style to be impressionistic realism and his subjects are mostly local and very colorful. Lambertville photographer Anthony Flamio will exhibit images of the Delaware Valley as well as New York City. His portfolio includes many prints that originated from film and printed in a traditional darkroom, long before the age of digital photography. Brillmans Rental Barn will display photographs of various events held at the Mills and will be present to answer questions. Emily’s Catering will have a host table to share catering details for events at the Mill and will also share photos of Mill events. The Delaware River Mill Society’s Craft Gallery will also have a table in the Sawmill as part of the Open House activities.
– A solo exhibition of Lambertville artist Luiz Vilela’s recent paintings are on display at desChamps Gallery in Lambertville through Nov. 14. The show offers a range of mood and color. This show captures the Delaware Valley area. His paintings, watercolors and drawings have been exhibited in galleries in Bucks and Hunterdon counties and New York City. Winner of many local awards, his most recent is the Thora M. Jensen Memorial Award given by the Hudson Valley Art Association at the National Arts Club in New York for his portrait of Jim Hamilton, of Lambertville. He also received the Robert S. Prichett Award at the 2009 Phillips Mill art exhibition and at the Lambertville Historical Society exhibition. He divides his time between Manhattan and his home and studio in Lambertville. – The Gallery & Academy of Robert Beck presents an exhibition of his work, "Costume Barn," at the new facility in Lambertville. The show continues through Nov. 28. One of the leading plein air painters in Bucks County, Mr. Beck is known for his documentary images – straightforward depictions of our time and place. And as he does every year, Mr. Beck has included in the show a large studio painting, done from his imagination. This stunning image of a tightrope walker puts the viewer above the acrobat looking down towards the circus floor below as she reaches out with her foot to find the wire. Mr. Beck’s work has been featured in exhibits at the James A. Michener Museum in Doylestown, and the Museum of the City of Trenton. He has relocated his gallery and academy to 204 N. – There is still time remaining to see the 81st annual Phillips’ Mill Art Exhibition, which opened Sept. 25. This annual juried art event – the first and most continuous venue for exhibiting the work of artists of the Delaware Valley – will remain open until Oct. 30. – New Hope Sidetracks Art Gallery is presenting the fourth annual Naked in New Hope exhibition, a group show celebrating the facts and foibles of the human body.
