The Robbinsville Junior Ravens 90-pound JV team won its third straight game with a 14-6 win over the Lumberton Hurricanes to move to 3-3 in the South Jersey Independent Youth Football Association.
The Junior Ravens got a 45-yard touchdown run by Jason Dunn in the second quarter and the extra point was run in by fullback Eli Winn. Dunn added another TD on a four-yard run in the third quarter, while Jared Taylor hit Steve Perna with the conversion pass.
The offensive line of Daniel Budanitsky, Brian Cocciolillo, Cory Bork, Ian Kempton, Christian Shimko, Ben Josephson, Jeremy Calabro, Finn Lecky, Steve Perna, Hunter Smilow and Isaiah Gonzalez, paved the way.
The defense held strong, as linebacker Calabro had two interceptions while linemen Shawn Werdal, Jared Taylor, Zack Siracusa, Ben Josephson, Luke Huff, Shimko, Brian Cocciolillo, Lecky, Ian Kempton and Winn recorded four fumble recoveries.
The linebacker corps of Bork, Daniel Budanitsky, Isaiah Gonzalez, Hunter Smilo, Nick Carella Dunn and Perna shut down the Hurricanes outside running game.
The Junior Ravens play home this weekend at the RHS against undefeated Fleetwood.
