Natalie Klek scored two goals as Brazil defeated Norway, 5-2. Grace Raterman, Chloe Brensinger and Mia Rhodes also scored while Sanjana Inamdar and Aditi Agarkhed provided offensive support. Jalyn Fleming, Morgan Slutzky and Alexis Rhodes played tough defense on the back line.
Brazil followed up with a 5-0 win over USA with Mia Rhodes tallying the hat trick. The Samuels sisters, Brielle and Jaylah, added one goal apiece. Klek and Slutzky recorded the shutout in goal with outstanding defensive support from Fleming, Alexis Rhodes and Agarkhed Inamdar. Brensinger had two assists and numerous defensive stops.
China beat England, 4-3, as Karolina Zachor scored the game-winner off a set-up from Kinsey Ratzman and Gabby Bieniasz. Alexandra Covello and Gabby Bieniasz also scored, with Sara Bielamowicz adding an assist. Strong midfield play came from Kelly Wert. Solid defensive work came from Leanna Smith, Emily Herrera and goalie Cindy Asencio, ensured the win for China.
USA split two games, beating Germany 3-2 and falling to Brazil, 5-0. Emma Wilcox, Josie Crafford and Sarah Tennant contributed outstanding offense with assists from midfielders Brea Zellner, Jailine Minera and Fiona Zhou. Maggie Zhou, Shannon Erkoboni and Hannah McGann battled throughout, while goalies Brynna and Brooke Zellner were tenacious
Germany’s late rally fell short in a 3-2 loss to USA. Lianna Eisenhauer had some big throw-ins and impressive defense was led by Jamie Franc, Lizette Calle, and Amanda Britton.
Germany fell 7-4 to China despite another late comeback. Caroline Hart, Jamie Franc, Olivia Orent and Naomi Reynolds sparked the rally, which was aided by strong kicks from Mary Alice Orent. Goalies Amanda Britton, Lizette Calle and Dara Clarke made pivotal saves.
A week earlier, Germany fell 3-2 to England despite strong games from Eisenhauer, Olivia Orent and Clarke. Germany followed with a 5-0 win over Brazil, with strong efforts by Madison Mahler, Allison Tamasi, Reynolds, Mary Alice Orent and Hart. GIRLS 9-10
Canada beat both New Zealand and Sweden by 5-1 margins. Morgan Franc Eisele scored five goals on the weekend, while Dasia Wright scored three and Taylore Hundley collected two. Other notable contributions came from Cailyn Fiori, Grace Dismukes, Alexys Hundley, Hailey Palombi, Erika Diefenbach, Natalia Ziemlinski and Catherine Kildea. Isabella Monacchio, Afreen Satarwalla and Gabriella Araneta played well in goal.
Sweden tied Australia 3-3 behind strong goaltending from Danielle Gershen and Vic Pirozzi. Defenders Katie Minera, Ava Glahn, Stephanie Roslon and Isabelle Lovvoll blocked several scoring chances. Angela Pursell, Heidi Turner and Lydia Wilcox accounted for the team’s goals. Wilcox scored the team’s only goal in a 5-1 setback to Canada. Cassidy Carroll, Ashley Manning, Ragavi Ragavi and Heidi Turner excelled on defense against Canada.
GIRLS 7-8
Anna Sarubbi continued to electrify New Jersey Sky Blue with her passing skills and goal-scoring ability. Maggie Svoboda, Sherilyn Campos, and Kate Faranetta showed great determination and dribbling skills. Camille Buffet-Mogel was fierce on defense, while Samantha Staub protected Sky Blue’s goal. BOYS 11-13
Ghana tied Paraguay, 2-2, and lost to a strong Argentina squad, 4-1. Colin Gregory scored both goals for Ghana in the tie and Nicholas Peist scored the lone goal in the loss. Audley Clarke and David Madigan contributed with strong play on both sides of the ball.
Uraguay took a 1-0 match against Germany when Calvin Ankener crossed to Brian Callejas for the game-winning goal. Defenders Sam Snyder, Omar Gibbs, Jack Weber, and Sam Butera excelled while goalkeepers Nick Wilcox and Quincy Washington combined on the shutout.
Paraguay tied Ghana and defeated Spain with offensive support from Jesse Steele, Christian Fang and Eric Broadway. Jason Bravo, Tyler Markert and Shamyl Fazle provided strong mid-field support, while Edward Ott, Shaurya Sood and Mark Immordino provided the defensive support. Kyle Caccavale and Immordino made impressive saves in goal. BOYS 9-10
Japan received tremendous efforts from William Castranova, Nash Baria, and Cole Hamer against England. Sal Rego made crucial saves in goal and Seamus Meager scored. Behind the defense of Akshith Narahari, Neo Mathieu and Russell Knab, Japan held off Portugal. Harshall Nawade had a strong performance in the midfield as did Chase Panfili at forward. BOYS 7-8
Chelsea received tremendous efforts from Robert Bridges, Zachary Hoarn, Jack Kosoff, Adam Levinsky and Matt Stout this past weekend.
Alec Blatt returned from a season-long injury and showed no signs of rust as he made key defensive stops and crisp passes for Manchester United. Emmett Baria, Jack Kremer and Danny Delongaig kept the goal safe, while Gavin White and Ram Laxminarayan cleared the ball effectively. Bret Gallagher and Connor Monaghan chipped in on offense. BOYS 5-6
Tommy Carpinelli was a constant sparkplug, Dylan Cox and Ethan Wang both scored goals, and Brody Coddington applied offensive pressure as the Philadelphia Union had a great weekend.
