The time is again here to head to the voting booth. I, like many of you, weigh my choices carefully and ask myself who has “earned” my vote.
This is judged by a balance of the answers to certain questions. Does the candidate do the right thing? Do they do it the right way? Is it done at the right time? Is it done for the right reason?
Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden’s law enforcement experience is over 18 years and he was trained and served as a MONOC certified paramedic. He volunteered his time to the community as both a fireman and an EMT.
He holds a master’s degree in administration from Seton Hall University and is a New Jersey Certified Public Manager.
As undersheriff he was responsible for the Emergency Communications Center and able to implement cost savings and shared services in those areas.
A highly informative Web page has information and links for programs of assistance and need ranging from children to seniors. The 911 outreach teaches seniors and children how and when to use emergency 911.
Project Lifesaver uses technology to assist in locating individuals with Alzheimer’s, memory disorders such as dementia, or autistic children who may be prone to wander.
The Humane Society of the United States is also linked, which promotes caring and compassion for pets and animals.
I intend to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason and the right way, by voting for Sheriff Shaun Golden on Nov. 2.
