On Friday, Oct. 1, Breast Cancer Awareness Month was truly launched in style!
The sixth annual In the Pink Fashion Show, benefiting the YWCA Princeton Breast Cancer Resource Center, was an incredible success, raising over $46,000 to support BCRC’s unique range of free information and support services for local women and families coping with breast cancer. The show highlighted breast cancer survivors and their supporters — spouses, children, grandchildren, doctors and nurses — all modeling fall fashions from Princeton’s finest retailers.
Countless individuals and businesses were involved in making this event a success, and we are grateful to each and every one of them for their support and generosity. We would like to make special mention of a very special group of talented women and men who added a unique touch of pink to the evening.
In answer to our call for table centerpieces, and the challenge of a centerpiece competition, 32 florists donated 51 amazing pink-themed floral arrangements to grace the tables and reception area. The entries included combinations of every pink flower imaginable, along with the unexpected and unique additions of glittering pumpkins, pink sneakers, bird cages and even pink chocolate covered strawberries.
We were truly inspired by this expression of community support, and wish to thank all of the store owners, managers and designers who gave of their time and talent to make In the Pink even more pink:
