West Windsor Arts Council
Only a Fling Dream Team can put together a Five-Alarm Firehouse Fling, and the West Windsor Arts Council had just such a team to orchestrate Oct. 16th’s wonderfully successful fundraising evening. Through inspiration, organization and perspiration, the team created a first and lasting impression for the new arts center in the old firehouse. Thanks to this committed group of people, the arts will flourish on the West Windsor side of Route 1.
Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, New Yorker Poetry Editor and Chairman of Princeton University’s Lewis Center for the Arts Paul Muldoon served not only as honorary chair for the event, but he wrote a poem for the occasion, commemorating the arts center’s firehouse history: “a spark against which this firehouse has so long/ stood firm should now light the dark/ from within a sculpture or a song.”
His reading of the poem sparked the evening with music by The Jazz Lobsters, dance and delectibles donated by Elements, Bon Appétit, BT Bistro, Tre Piani, Winebow, Americana Diner, Asian Halal Meat Kebab House, Belzano Ristorante, Capuano Ristorante, First Wok, Gateway of India, Hanami, Jacobs Music, Little Szechuan, Magna Pizza, McCaffrey’s, Nassau Street Seafood, Olive Garden, Olives, On the Border, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Sam’s Club, Sushi King, the bent spoon and Trader Joe’s. In addition, PNC Bank West Windsor Branch, Title Village and Princeton Air provided generous support.
Without each and every one of our sponsors, donors, patrons, participants, visionaries and cleaner-uppers, none of this could have happened, and we look forward to your continued involvement in our arts center. Visit www.westwindsorarts.org and sign up for our e newsletter.
