PLUMSTED – Keeping up with its annual tradition, the New Egypt Primary School celebrated Halloween on Friday with classroom parties, a Halloween trail and parade.
Every year, thanks to Caitlyn Tilley, the high school National Honor Society facilitator; school Principal Toni Ferry and the members of the high school Honor Society, the nature trail located behind the school transforms into a magical Halloween adventure for the young students. This year the primary students explored the trail and went on an adventure with SpongeBob Square Pants, counting and catching jellyfish as they traveled through.
The students’ Halloween fun began as they participated in the primary school’s annual Halloween parade, providing the community’s youngest learners the opportunity to proudly display their costumes in front of parents and community members. Afterward the Halloween celebration continued back in their classrooms as the students played games, made spooky crafts and ate snacks.
"It is a wonderful day all around," said Ms. Ferry. "There is always an added bonus when the schools can team up together to do something special for our students."
