MOUNT HOLLY – The Superior Court of New Jersey, Burlington Vicinage, is seeking citizen volunteers for its Child Placement Review (CPR) Boards. The Legislature established Child Placement Review Boards in 1978. Board members are court-appointed, trained citizen volunteers charged with monitoring the cases of children placed in foster care or residential placements by the Division of Youth and Family Services to ensure that the placement serves the best interest of the child.
Members are appointed by the assignment judge for a provisional term of one year and may be reappointed for additional terms of three years. Board members review case plans, conduct interviews of interested parties and make recommendations to the court. The CPR boards meet bi-weekly during the day on Wednesdays.
CPR board members must be citizens and residents of Burlington County. Prospective board members are subject to an appropriate screening process which includes a written application, an interview and a criminal background check, including fingerprinting. Selected volunteers must attend a 12-hour program-specific training offered at the Burlington Courthouse.
