‘Finian’s Rainbow’ tryouts set in Parlin

Open auditions for the upcoming Main Street Theatre Company production of “Finian’s Rainbow,” the Yip Harburg-Burton Lane classic musical that recently ended its Broadway revival run, will be held 7:30-9 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 at the Main Street Theatre, 3018 Bordentown Ave., Parlin section of Sayreville.

Director Tony Adase of Manalapan and musical director Rory Chalcraft of South River are looking for actors to fill the main leads: Finian McLonergan, Og, Sharon and Woody. A large number of males and females of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds also are sought to portray a variety of roles including singers and dancers, ages 10-70, who make up the townsfolk of Rainbow County.

Auditioners should bring their own sheet music or sing something from the show. Nonsingers will be asked to read from the script. Show dates are weekends, March 11-27. Rehearsals will begin in early January.
