Mr. Ryan, 86, of Howell, died Oct. 20, 2010, at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater in the 3rd Armored Division. Mr. Ryan was one of the organizers of the Howell First Aid Squad. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine, in 2000. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, John F. Jr. and Evelyn Ryan of Neptune; two granddaughters; and three great-grandsons. A funeral service was held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Howell.
