HOWELL — On Oct. 6 the students of the Ramtown School participated in their annual Make a Difference Day.
This year’s theme included the students donating $1 to wear a hat for the day and donating new hats in support of Hats Off For Cancer.
Hats Off For Cancer, a nonprofit organization, collects and donates hats of all kinds to children who lose their hair due to cancer treatments.
Thanks to the generous donations of companies, sports teams, civic groups, schools and the general public, Hats Off For Cancer has donated more than 950,000 new hats to hospitals, camps and individuals around the world since 1996.
According to a press release, the Ramtown community raised more than $500 for Hats Off For Cancer and 76 new hats were collected and donated to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
The day raised students’ awareness to the disease and the need for hats for children fighting cancer. According to the press release, the students were thankful to help children with cancer and give them a smile.
