On Nov. 13, the NWS will bring their show to the Sayreville Knights of Columbus (K of C) hall at 775 Washington Road, in order to benefit the K of C and the United States Bowling Congress.

“We like to think of it as [World Wrestling Entertainment’s] ‘Monday Night Raw’ without all the parking fees,” said NWS Operations Manager “Dapper” Johnny Falco. One unique aspect of the NWS shows, he said, is that fans have a chance to talk and take photographs with the wrestlers after the show.

There will be a number of marquee names at the event, including former WWE superstar Val Venis and former Extreme Championship Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action star Julio Dinero, with his manager Miss Michelle.

Also on the bill is a six-person inter-gender tag-team match. In one corner will be the 900-pound undefeated Nigerian Nightmares Ma-Fu and Ga-Ga with their partner Voodoo Princess Sheena. In the opposite corner will be former WWE developmental star Pat Buck and his partner “Mr. Entertainment” J.D. Smoothie. Their female partner will be WSU (Women’s Superstars Uncensored) Spirit champion Brittney Savage.

A number of area wrestlers will also get to flaunt their skills before a hometown crowd. “The Love Machine” Nicky Oceans, The B&S Express and the “Retro Rocker” Ricky Rose will all be in action.

The NWS, launched in 1995, puts on around 50 shows in New Jersey each year. Almost every show, Falco said, is organized in conjunction with an area charity. The “fun, family-friendly” atmosphere, he said, helps draw people in while allowing them to donate to a worthy cause.

“You can do only so many tricky trays,” Falco joked.

Falco also comically likened the NWS events to a Chinese buffet.

“You go and stuff yourself on it, but a little while later you want more anyway.”

The show begins at 7:35 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for kids and seniors, and can be purchased at a number of local outlets, such as Mo’s Barber Shop in Parlin, the Minit Mart Food Store in Sayreville, Rico’s Barber Shop in South Amboy and Villaggio Pizza in South River. Tickets can also be purchased from the NWS box office at 732-888-1704.

“There’s no better place to hoot and holler,” Falco said.

NWS will also be holding a number of other events in the area before and after the Nov. 13 show. On Nov. 12 at the Thorn Middle School Gym in Port Monmouth, a larger bill will feature more wrestling stars. The proceeds from that night’s show will go toward school activities.
