Davis twins go one-two in CJ x-c

North Brunswick High School’s Davis twins, Cullen and Kyle, went one-two at the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV Cross Country Championships on Nov. 6.

Running over the familiar terrain of Thompson Park in Jamesburg, Cullen Davis was the only runner in Group IV to break 16:00 on the 5,000-meter course. His winning time was 15:55.

Kyle Davis held off West Windsor- Plainsboro South’s Brian Schoepfer (16:05- 16:06) for second.

The top five teams and top 10 individuals at the sectional meet advanced to this Saturday’s Group State Championships at Holmdel Park.

The North Brunswick boys were 11th (290).

South Brunswick High School’s boys finished one spot off the final qualifying positioning, in sixth (182). The Vikings’ top runner was Matt Eder, who finished 24th (17:01).

For the girls, South Brunswick’s Cayla Del Piano extended her season by finishing fourth (19:08). Unfortunately, her Viking teammates will not be going to Holmdel Park after finishing sixth (184), just two points behind fifth-place Freehold Township (182).

North Brunswick was 10th (307). Leading the way for the Raider girls was Jennifer Salvatore (20:54) in 25th place.
