Readers of GolfStyles New Jersey have voted Forsgate Country Club in Monroe the “No. 1 Private Club Value” and the “No. 1 Family Club” in the magazine’s 2010 Readers’ Choice Awards.
Forsgate also claimed Top 10 spots in the categories of “Best Private Course” and “Best Restaurant,” among others. GolfStyles polled more than 47,000 of its Garden State readers for the fall 2010 awards issue.
“Our team stays focused every day on creating and maintaining value to our members and customers, and we appreciate the recognition from GolfStyles’ readers,” said Christopher Schiavone, chief executive officer of RDC Golf Group, which owns and operates Forsgate. “Our great facilities are part of that value, but it’s our staff and present membership that are most important to making Forsgate Country Club a special place for single golfers and families alike.”
The Monroe facility has been home for 75 years to the renowned Banks Course, which is on The Met Golfer magazine’s list of the “Top Fifty Courses in the Met Area.”
And Forsgate’s Palmer Course offers an 18-hole traditional American design that is highlighted by water on 10 of its scenic holes.
This year, Forsgate introduced a new-American cuisine-inspired bistro named “37.” Forsgate’s Grille restaurant offers a menu described as “casual, yet creative,” and is accompanied by a fullservice bar with plasma televisions.
The club’s aquatics facility has a junior Olympic-sized pool, kids pool and cabana café. Kids and adults are also able to enjoy personal training in the club’s new state-of-the-art fitness center that is supervised by certified instructors.
Forsgate’s social calendar is packed with year-round activities including trips, tours, wine dinners and themed “nights” for the adults and fun events for kids including laser tag nights, drive-in movies, pizza parties, talent shows and much more. During the holidays, the club presents traditional tree-lighting ceremonies, Hanukkah activities, Breakfast With Santa, the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Mother’s Day Brunch.
Forsgate also hosts golf outings, corporate meetings and hospitality functions. Members and nonmember guests may reserve one of seven meeting rooms, the multimillion-dollar Highlands Ballroom or the sun-infused Sky Atrium for special events and corporate functions.
