MANALAPAN — The Manalapan Arts Council will present the Manalapan Symphony Orchestra performing a holiday program featuring Russian classics including Borodins “Polovetsian Dances” and Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite.”
The orchestra, conducted by Michael Avagliano, will perform on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, Symmes Drive, Manalapan, The performance is free. Residents of all communities are welcome to attend the performance.
According to a press release from the township, students from the Rising Stars School of Dance, Manalapan, will enhance the symphony experience when they perform to Tchaikovsky’s holiday tradition “Nutcracker Suite.”
“We are thrilled and honored to be working with our town’s symphony on this program,” said Joan Pauley, events coordinator at Rising Stars School of Dance.
According to Marty Gelfond, the orchestra’s manager, the timing of the Saturday evening event breaks from its afternoon tradition with hopes that residents will include the symphony on their weekend agenda of celebratory family events that provides an experience to remember, but is also budget friendly.
