Russell Brokstein, D.C., of Freehold, a member of the nonprofit Association of New Jersey Chiropractors, is participating in the “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” statewide program to collect nonperishable food, coats, hats, gloves and scarves. People can drop off the above-mentioned items from now through Dec. 31 at Dr. Brokstein’s office, at Hometown Family Wellness Center, 9 Broadway, Freehold. The Friends of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center has announced that Janet D. Weyers has been named as development director, a consulting position.

Weyers, a resident of Jackson, has more than 20 years of experience in development, including major gifts, annual fund, communications and marketing, grant writing and capital campaigns. She will be responsible for directing the second phase of expansion of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center.

The Friends of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center is a volunteer-driven nonprofit formed to raise capital funds for the building of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center, a safe, childfriendly facility co-locating child protective services, law enforcement, prosecution, victim advocacy, medical and mental health professionals under one roof. The CAC is at 500 Kozloski Road, Freehold Township.

Phase One was completed in 2009. The Friends have raised more than $3.7 million since their inception in 2003. Phase Two of the capital campaign is a one-story facility that will include full medical suites, group therapy rooms and additional offices for detectives and law enforcement officials.

Paul Sansone Sr., CEO of the Sansone Auto Network Dealerships in Avenel and Ocean, has been honored with the Hope Maker Award for 2010 by the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital board of directors. Sansone has been a supporter and major donor to the Memphis hospital. Established by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1957, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital aims to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

A Breakfast Bonanza networking event will be presented by the Howell Chamber of Commerce from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Dec. 10 at the Chapter House, 1454 Route 9 south, Howell.
