Iwas thrilled to see the results of the Old Bridge elections and the “death” of the open space tax.
In our current economy it was ridiculous that we were dedicating tax dollars to preserve space to be used for nothing. That money could be used for more important things that help our community such as our schools, the police department, emergency services, library, etc.
When I chose to live in Old Bridge, I did not base my decision on the amount of open space the township contained but rather its location and convenience. I doubt that many of our residents settled here because they wanted less development and more open space.
I enjoy the many conveniences that Old Bridge offers. I don’t need to drive far to get to a gas station, supermarket or school. If someone wants to see more open space, he or she should live in other towns in a more rural area.
