The Manville Public Library book sale is continuing at the library. Purchase the donated and surplus books to help support the library. Hard cover books for 50 cents; soft cover 25 cents each – or by the bag for $2.
Sunday, Dec. 19
Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church announces its Annual Christmas Cookie Sale on Dec. 19. Doors open at 11 a.m. so come early for the best selection of homemade cookies from around the world. Choose an assortment, including Russian Tea Cakes, Rugelach, Italian anisette cookies, and much more. The Christian Community Chapel with host A Christmas Musical Comedy, at 7 p.m. at the chapel at 211 Route 206, Hillsborough. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.

Looking ahead
Somerset Valley Players will hold auditions for "The Velveteen Rabbit" at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 and 14. Male actors age 3 and from 20 to 45 and female actors age 2 and 20 to 45 are needed, along with boys and girls age 10 and older. Children’s roles are not gender specific. The Neshanic Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Station House on Olive Street, Neshanic Station. Renowned photographer Walter Choroszewski will present "The Great Tree Adventure." Club member Jeanine Geremia will speak about the New Jersey State Flower Show.
