The Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce 82nd annual luncheon meeting and installation of officers and directors will be held on Jan. 11 at the Bella Vista Country Club, Marlboro, at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $35 for chamber members and $40 for nonmembers. The Goddard School in the Morganville section of Marlboro is accepting applications for a $10,000 college scholarship through Feb. 11. The Anthony A. Martino Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to one Goddard School alumnus and can be used toward college tuition of the student’s choice. The LearningExpress Job and Career Accelerator is now available at New Jersey libraries to help unemployed people obtain jobs. Funds from the $5.1 million federal Broadband Technology Opportunity Program Grant, awarded to the New Jersey State Library, are being used to provide job search assistance resources to library card holders throughout the state.
One of those resources is the Learning- Express Job and Career Accelerator, which brings together important job search features in a single source, including full-featured resume and letter builders; more than 120 model resumes; in-depth personal interest assessment; cutting-edge career occupation exploration; an expansive job listing database and refined search engine; and job application tracking and progress management.
The National Telecommunications and Information Administration awarded the federal grant to the state library as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (federal stimulus).
