Diocese to offer Lenten faith workshop

The Diocese of Metuchen will offer a Lenten faith formation workshop for parish and school catechetical leaders 6-9 p.m. Jan. 12 at the St. John Neumann Pastoral Center, 146 Metlars Lane in Piscataway. Cosponsored by the Diocesan Office of Catechesis and Office of Schools, the hands-on session, “Gather in My Name,” is designed to provide attendees with a better understanding of three traditional Lenten practices of the Catholic faith: prayer, penance and good works, also known as almsgiving.

Led by three consultants from Sadlier, a company known for its catechetical and educational publications, the three-hour evening workshop will provide religious educators and leaders of the diocese with practical ideas and materials to help them create a more meaningful and memorable Lenten experience in their own parishes and schools.

The program, which includes a meal of fellowship, is free, but registration is required by Jan. 5. For more information, visit www.diometuchen.org or contact the Office of Catechesis at 732-562-1990, ext. 1310, or catechesis@diometuchen.org.
