The year is quickly drawing to a close. And as the year ends, so does the opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation to The Salvation Army for this year. More than simply receiving a tax deduction, you can still help to fill our kettles, which aren’t full. In turn, you’ll also help your neighbors in need.
You see, all kettle donations are used throughout the year, not just during the holidays. And our kettles need to be full — even brimming, to help the almost 400,000 New Jersey residents who come to us for help. We’ve got a real challenge on our hands as we enter the new year. So many people are coming to us for help, and we don’t want to be forced to reduce our services in these stressful economic ties.
I know how important our food pantries are to people who are hungry. I know what a difference a hot meal and a warm blanket mean to people whose stomachs are empty and who are very, very cold. And I know the relief parents feel when we’ve helped with a prescription for their child who is ill.
Please help. Please make your tax-deductible donation today and help fill our kettles. And if you’ve already made one, please consider making another if you have the means. May God’s many blessings be upon you and your family.
