The Monmouth County Park System keeps the Bel-Aire and Shark River golf courses open year-round. Winter golf rates — $12 at Shark River’s and Bel-Aire’s 18- hole courses, and $8 at Bel-Aire’s nine-hole course — last through March 14. County and non-county golfers enjoy the same discount during this time period. There is no need to worry about purchasing a golf ID card, since only walk-on play is available during the winter months. Shark River is in Neptune and Bel-Aire is in Wall Township. Pinelanders Youth Soccer Club, Howell, is accepting registration for the spring 2011 recreation soccer season. Registration is open to boys and girls who will be ages 4- 18 on April 1, 2011 (proof of age required). Girls ages 5-14 can choose all-girl or co-ed soccer. The fee is $50 per player, $100 maximum per family. A late fee of $10 per player will be charged for registrations received after Feb. 6. The 10-week season will start in April.
