It appears that removing the two-hour parking limit on Seminary Avenue was a bad idea.
Merchants complain that customer parking is unavailable during peak business hours. Apparently town residents and employees occupy space for long periods of time, not only all day – but for weeks.
Council has postponed a solution to the problem. Mayor Paul Anzano told merchants they would have to "tolerate" the status quo until then.
The problem is not only about Seminary Avenue parking. As commercial development increases in the borough there will be a need for additional parking space that accommodates employees and their patrons.
What is intolerable is the absence of a Master Plan that addresses parking needs commensurate with small business growth.
