The Stockton Elementary School will offer adult classes during winter 2011.
All adults are welcome to participate in Learners Welcome: A New Community of Learning for Adults.
Instructors are donating their services and 100 percent of the class cost will go the Stockton Elementary School PTO. To see the fee schedule for the classes, visit http://www.stocktonschool.us.
The Stockton PTO offers programs to its elementary students such as Mandarin Chinese, guitar lessons and Karate classes.
Classes include: This Is Our Story, Setting Free the Book in You, Tax Help for Senior Citizens, Tax Tips and Changes in Tax Law, You’re a Poet, and You Know It and Digital Photography 101.
This Is Our Story is a class providing a brief history of civil society in the United States. The classes will meet on Jan. 19, 26, and Feb. 2.
Setting Free the Book in You is for all those interested in learning about options and the process of publishing. It will meet on Feb. 8.
Tax Help for Senior Citizens will be offered on Feb. 15.
Tax Tips and Changes in Tax Law will gather on Feb. 22.
You’re A Poet, and You Know It is an introduction to writing poetry and will gather on March 2, 9, and 16.
Digital Photography 101 will be the opportunity to learn the basics of digital photography. Classes meet on March 23, 30, and April 6.
Classes will meet from 7-8 p.m. and will be held at the Stockton Elementary School, 19 S. Main St., Stockton.

About the teachers:
– Kenneth Good is an adjunct faculty in the history department at Kean University and resident of Stockton, where he also pastors the Stockton Presbyterian Church.
-Jim Gallagher is founder of OTTN Publishing in Stockton. OTTN’s mission is to create non-fiction books for young readers.
– Ray Brown is a Frenchtown poet and author of the recently published "I Have His Letters Still." He is the recipient of the NJ Poetry Society 2009 Recognition Award.
– Michael Torrey is the president and owner of Smart Business Services, Inc. providing accounting, bookkeeping and tax return preparation and consulting services to individuals and small business.
-Joanne Nestor is a Stockton resident and graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She has worked in New York City as an architectural photographer assistant and for in the Governor’s Office as staff photographer to Gov. Thomas H. Kean, Gov. James J. Florio and Gov. Christine Todd Whitman. She is principal photographer and photo archivist for the New Jersey State Archives in Trenton
