Towns reoranize for 2011

   A number of townships held their reorganization meetings for township councils and committees naming new mayors, reappointing others.
   Mansfield Township unanimously welcomed back Mayor Art Puglia for another term as mayor. Robert Higgins was unanimously appointed as deputy mayor.
   Republican Sean Gable won a three-year term on the Township Committee in November and was sworn in by Municipal Clerk Linda Semus.
   Other appointments included Michael Magee as township solicitor and Kevin Frenia as auditor.
   Remington, Vernick and Arango will serve as the engineer group and Louis Glass Associates will serve as the township planner group.
   North Hanover held its meeting at noon on New Year’s Day and named Bill Tilton as mayor and Jim Durr as deputy mayor.
   Republican incumbents Deb Butler and Jim Durr defeated Democrats Daniel Gerber and John Kocubinski for two seats on the Township Committee in November.
   Deb Butler and Jim Durr were sworn in by Township Solicitor Mark Roselli.
   Other appointments included Greg Sullivan as engineer, Mike Holt as engineer and Abbe Kooper as township planner.
   Chesterfield held its reorganization meeting on Monday at 10 a.m. naming Lawrence Durr as mayor and Michael Hlubik as deputy mayor.
   They were sworn in by Township Solicitor John Gillespie.
   Republican Richard LoCascio defeated former Mayor Brian Kelly for the one available three-year seat on the Township Committee in November.
   Other appointments included Nancy Jamanow as engineer, John Maley as auditor and Phil Caton as township planner.
   Springfield Township was to reorganize Tuesday night and Florence on Wednesday night.
