It’s the Summer to Discover…Somerset Valley YMCA Summer Camp

By Donna Dass
At the Y, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve.  As a cause-driven charitable organization, we are committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.  That’s why, through summer camp at the Somerset Valley YMCA, youth are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement.
Somerset Valley YMCA camps are American Camp Association Accredited and provide children with new and exciting summer adventures.  Children spend time indoors and outdoors. Experienced camp counselors lead campers in a wide variety of activities each day such as instructional/recreational swimming, arts and crafts, games, science, sports, and weekly field trips. Our summer camp programs encourage the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility while building a child’s self confidence and self esteem. Children leave the Y day camp with more than just fond memories.  They take with them leadership skills that will prove to be useful into adulthood.  Our Y counselors take the time to listen and make every child feel special.
Favorite camps are back, as well as new and exciting additions to the camp line-up. And with the Y, everyone can afford to keep their kids healthy and safe this summer.  As a non-profit organization, the Somerset Valley YMCA is able to provide a summer camp experience for families, regardless of their ability to pay. For more information on financial assistance and scholarships, contact one of our Somerset Valley YMCA branches.
