Chip Meara, Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction, 609-396-5874
Mercer Council is now offering Botvin’s Life Skills Training Program to Mercer schools and youth groups. This evidence-based prevention curriculum was developed by Dr. Gilbert Botvin, Director of the Institute for Prevention Research at Cornell University Medical College. The Life Skills Training Program seeks to promote health and well-being among children through the delivery of a combination of life, health and drug resistance skills. It is one of the only programs proven to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs among adolescents, making it the most extensively evaluated subtance abuse program available. For more information on bringing the Botvin’s Life Skills Training Program to your school or youth group, call 609-396-5874, ext. 203.
