On January 11, Joseph Mullane, Vice President of Amboy National Bank in Old Bridge NJ presented a check to local non profit, the Giving Network for $2500. The Giving Network, based in Somerville, is an all-volunteer charity that helps needy families and individuals all over Somerset County by delivering household items and food. The Giving Network was founded 11 years ago by a group of volunteers from the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Somerset Hills in response to the devastation of Hurricane Floyd in Bound Brook. Once the flood waters receded, the volunteers realized there were other in Somerset County who needed assistance. Since then, The Giving Network has grown to over 60 volunteers both full time and part time who work to assist residents of our county. Volunteers and donations are always welcomed and needed.
