County stable plans hay ride

BASKING RIDGE – Somerset County Park Commission Lord Stirling Stable is offering the first hay ride of the year Saturday, Jan. 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The whole family is invited to go on this tractor-pulled hay ride along the equestrian trails through woods, fields and meadows. The wagon will stop at a campfire site where hot chocolate and s’mores will be served.
The fee for the event is $10 per person, which includes the hay ride and refreshments. Call 908-766-5955 or stop by the office before 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, to reserve seats. Payment is required at the time of registration by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card.
Participants should dress for the weather and bring a blanket or two for extra comfort.
Lord Stirling Stable is situated on 450 acres with 18 miles of trails, an indoor arena, three outdoor rings and an outdoor-jumping course.
